I'm a software engineer who helps businesses grow by translating business rules and decisions to fast, stable and secure web applications.
I specialize in testing and modernizing legacy applications and have experience in leading developer teams and doing code reviews.
I have experience in a variety of languages, tools, and methodologies. I have worked with PHP, JavaScript, Java, Bash, C, C#. I have used databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, InfluxDB. Git is my favored tool for version control.
I have used Beanstalkd and Gearman for messaging. Apache, NGINX, Vagrant, Docker are all in my tool belt as well. From the PHP ecosystem I have experience with Laravel 4, 5, 6 7 and 8, Symfony 2, 3, 4 and 5, Symfony Flex, Doctrine 2, PHPUnit, Mockery, PHPSpec, XDebug.
I know how to write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests. I have successfully optimized the performance of all of the layers of the "stack" - from the database and the HTTP server, through code, to the user interface.
